ALLISON GROENLEER

As a native of Michigan, Allison grew up close to the outdoors where she discovered hiking and backpacking. Eventually, her curiosity and growing passion for adventure took her to the West. She found herself working as a "high altitude cook" for a guide service at Camp Muir on Mount Rainier, where she had the chance to learn about mountaineering and climb the mountain. Allison spent a decade living, exploring and trying new things in the Pacific Northwest. Here, she became an avid skier, earning turns on the flanks of Rainier year round. The mountains of Alaska lured her North and she spent two summers living and working on the Kahiltna Glacier, assisting with glacier landing flights and orienting Denali climbers to base camp. Always up for an adventure, her travels have taken her mountain biking and hiking all over the desert Southwest, ice climbing in Colorado and Montana and trekking in the Khumbu Region of Nepal.
