

TYLER REID
Tyler Reid is a year-round professional ski and mountain guide based in the Methow Valley, WA. His guiding career started on Mt. Rainier at the age of 24. In 2011 he founded Pacific Alpine Guides, initially as the only guide service based in the Olympic Mountains, with trips in the North Cascades, BC, and Alaska.
Since then Tyler has lead trip to Chile, Japan, Kazakhstan, Greenland, Siberia, Georgia, Antarctica, and Nepal. He has pioneered too many first descents to count as well as numerous first ascents. His favorite mountains on the planet are "The Wrangells" in Alaska. Every spring he makes an annual pilgrimage to guide out of Tebay Lodge, the program PAG is best known for these days.
Tyler is an AMGA Certified Ski Guide, has AIARE Level 3 avalanche training, and is an AIARE pro course leader. When he is home in the winter he also works for North Cascade Heli guiding heli-skiing and heli-assisted ski touring.
His non-guiding passions include roots reggae music, hike & fly paragliding, photography, and filmmaking. He resides in the foothills of the eastern North Cascades with his wife Melissa and their two kids Kaia and Judah. In 2016, Tyler and Melissa climbed the Northeast Ridge of Mt. Everest together.
